March goals – recap

Yes, yes, I’m a little late in posting my recap of March goals, but the end of the month came quickly and then I had to travel. I as a bit distracted. Anywho, here’s the skinny on my (lack of) success during the month of March.

  1. Run (and walk) 45 miles (I’m doing my 2nd half-marathon on 3/4/12) and then I think I need to take a break from running. I’ve been in training mode since October. My body needs a bit of break so I’m going to add in more walks. I still want those 40 miles though!
    Didn’t make this one – earned 27 miles during March. After the half my shins were in a lot of pain so I rested. When I attempted to run after taking 2 weeks off, it was still a no go so I ended up taking the rest of the month off from walking/running.
  2. Lent began in February and ends the first week of April, my goal is to observe no meat on Fridays throughout Lent. I can have seafood. So far so good.
    Not a lot of success w/ this one either. Of the 5 Fridays I was successful at not eating meat on 3 of them. One Friday, I totally forgot and the other I purposefully ate meat. 
  3. Taper down my coffee habit. I’m travelling overseas in April and I don’t want the need for coffee to occur during that travel. So during March I will switch to decaf and drastically reduce my intake so that I’m not drinking coffee at all that last week in March.
    This was the only goal that I was totally successful on. I took myself completely off coffee a week before I had to leave for my trip. Did I miss it? You bet! But I didn’t have one drop until I returned. Go me!
